Original 1930s Reclaimed Wooden Hardwood Front Door.
Carefully removed by professional fitters.
Condition
- Pre-owned and has been previously installed.
- Excellent/ very clean condition both sides.
- Not bowed at all.
- Slight rot on the bottom corner of the door (see photos) which could be treated by a competent carpenter.
- Two panels of glazing are cracked and have been previously repaired using adhesive/sealant (see photos) – a competent glazier could replace this panes.
- Part of the external side has previously been filled and re painted (see photos).
- Paint peeling in places as is expected on antique wooden items. This door could benefit from being sanded and repainted.
- Housing for door chain is broken, however replacements can be purchased online and are easy to fit.
- Screw hole on the internal side (see photos) which could be filled.
Missing Parts
- There is no frame for this item, so you would need to get one made up by a carpenter or use your existing frame if possible.
- Main lock would need to be changed as there is no key.
- Door nob and letter box missing however these can be purchased online.
Security
- Multipoint locking system making it very secure.
Opening
- The door opens inwards to the right when viewing from the outside.
- Could be modified to have the door opening the other way (holes would need to be filled).
Glazing
- Glazing is original single glazed, distorted.
- Has Georgian Bars with each pane individually glazed, which provides added security and makes them easier to replace if broken.
Colour
- The colour externally is White and internally is Cream.
- The colour of the handles is Silver and the hinges are Solid Brass.
